Yesterday's meeting, NICH along with the endure of the Republic of China (Taiwan) released a Primary School Art Skills Training Project for children in Belize City. The duly project will offer training in art skills to selected students of primary school from various schools around Belize City and it will run for an occurring period of six months from July through December 2014.
The PSAST Project is a journey in speaking the critical need to higher the accessibility and affordability of creative arts programs for the children of Belize. The cover objective of the program is to make opportunities available for exactly 50 students in Belize City primary schools to higher their abilities to express themselves on creating through training in a structured art and craft programme.
The programme will be directed by Ms. Fiona Huang, a Taiwanese artist and art instructor living in Belize who will be on a voluntary basis has been providing art classes to St. Joseph and Holy Redeemer Schools. Through the PSAST, we want students from other schools to benefit as well. It is schedule to commence on July 1st, 2014 at the Department of Youth Services on Regent Street.
